Safety, authorization and data practices.

This page describes how we operate. Who flies, who authorizes the work, what stops a flight, and what happens to the images. The detail on privacy is on the privacy page.

Effective · Describes practice, not law

01

Authorized operations.

Aerial work is flown under FAA Part 107 by a certificated remote pilot. Before each job the pilot reviews the airspace, flight restrictions, the weather, the people and property nearby, and site hazards.

Controlled airspace needs FAA authorization before the flight. We get it, or we do not fly there. Night work and flights over people happen only when the FAA’s conditions for them are met.

Part 107 covers the flying. It does not grant access to anyone’s property. It does not replace state privacy law or your site’s own rules.

02

Who authorizes the work.

We contract with a client who confirms it has the authority to commission the inspection. The client also provides or arranges access to the site.

Some jobs involve an easement, a tenancy, or facilities owned by someone other than the landowner. There we ask for the documents that establish it before we schedule.

03

Written authorization.

Written authorization is in place before every visit and every flight. Who signs, and what the work may cover, is settled when we quote.

04

Safety authority.

The pilot in command decides whether a flight starts, continues or stops.

Weather, airspace, temporary restrictions, site conditions or equipment status can delay or cancel fieldwork. So can anything else that affects safety, legality or data quality. A scan flown outside its window is a report nobody should act on, so we move it instead.

05

Privacy and incidental capture.

Every mission is planned around the asset we were hired to inspect. Where it is practical and safe, flights are planned to limit what else is in frame. Identifiable people are not the subject of the work.

How incidental images are handled, kept and shared is set out in the privacy policy.

06

Data and deliverables.

The written scope sets what you receive and the file formats. It also sets what processing was applied, how long files are kept, and what may be reused.

Thermal images, orthomosaics, point clouds and models are processed products, and the report says what was done to them. Synthetic content is never presented as captured evidence. Illustrations and schematics are labeled inside the frame.

07

Credentials.

Flights are performed by an FAA-certificated remote pilot. Aircraft registration and Remote ID are maintained as required. Certificate documentation is available to contracting clients.

What this page is.

This page describes how we operate. It is not legal advice, and what a specific project requires depends on the site and the work.
